In Memory: Mandy Slack

It is with great sadness, as well as great jubilation, that we report the passing of Evangelist, Amanda M. Slack, age 47, of Caldwell, Idaho. She went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 11, 2026.

Sister Slack has served in various capacities throughout the years in the Church. Her most recent assignment has been as our General Women’s Missionary Band Coordinator. She has inspired countless women, young and old alike, around the globe to support the cause of missions, both financially and prayerfully.

Sister Slack has labored over the years as a wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend, pastor’s wife, National Evangelist, General Assembly Band Movement Coordinator, a member of the Church Publishing Editorial History Doctrine Polity Committee and a Bible Training Institute Representative, Western Regional Camp Director, Ladies’ Retreat Coordinator, Evangelism Coordinator, Sunday School teacher, and the list could go on and on. If you knew Sister Mandy, you knew she lived by the motto “Get it done!” And if it didn’t get done, she would figure out a way to do it herself with the help of the Lord. She certainly embodied Paul’s admonishment to Timothy—“Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine” (2 Timothy 4:2).

Sister Slack was a woman of joy and vigor. She was a loyal soldier in the Lord’s army, valiantly serving for such a time as this. She fought a good fight and kept the faith and no doubt today she is wearing a beautiful crown with amethyst stones in honor of her King. Sister Mandy was all in, all the time. She was sold out to the cause of Christ and His Church. She was focused in her faith.

Words cannot express our complete gratitude for this beautiful life who walked among us, cried with us, sang with us, rejoiced with us, and encouraged us. Let us continue to pray for the entire Slack family, the local church at Caldwell, and the entire West Region, daily. Remember, if we stay focused in faith we will meet Sister Slack again one day.
